Looking for an easy gift that any hostess can use? Look no further! you can whip up this set of thank you cards in under an hour:
For this project you will need:
Kraft Cardstock (two sheets of 8.5″x11″ cut in half then folded to make four 5.5″x4.25″ cards, and one sheet of 12″x12″ kraft cardstock for the card box)
White 8.5″x11″ cardstock for printing digital pattern paper (I used inexpensive Georgia Pacific cardstock that runs about 2 cents a sheet from Wal-Mart and the Mod Summer Papers from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff)
A box template (I used the Recipe Box Folio set from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff)
Silhouette style stamps (I used the Oh Dear! Set from pink Persimmon)
Ink for stamping (I used Old Olive and Really Rust dye based ink from Stampin’ Up!)
Standard invitation size envelopes (Mine are from Staples but you can use the envelope templates from Envelope Bonanza to make yours if you do not have any on hand )
Other Supplies: Paper cutter, scissors, double stick tape, silk flower and Bradmaker (optional)
Step 1. Print out sheets of pattern paper from the Mod Summer kit, If you do not know how to do this you can read my easy tutorial here. Cut or punch squares and rectangles out of pattern paper and adhere to the kraft card bases.
Step 2. Stamp the deer and sentiments as shown on the cards. Be sure to ink up you stamps well and press firmly to be sure all of the ink is transferred.
Step 3. Cut out the box template. I used my electronic die cutter and SCAL software but you can cut it by hand too, just be sure to enlarge it. I would set the length to 12″ and print it on copy paper then you can trace it on the 12″x12″ cardstock. The template will cut off a the end a bit but it is easy to lengthen when you trace it on.
Step 4. Decorate the box and slide the cards and envelopes inside! I attached a silk flower with a brad I made with a scrap of the paper from the project using my I-Top bradmaker.
Here is a look at the products I used:
So, the next time you want to say thanks to a hostess make them a box of chic and stylish thank you cards! Happy crafting!
